01 · PipelineApplications and bookings by segment

Applications and confirmed bookings from the ClickUp CRM pipeline export (1 Sep to 31 Oct 2026), broken down by country, channel, age group and new-vs-returning status. October leads, September follows as last month, and October 2025 is the last-year view. This is a different source from the Fillout-based volunteer application count in the Acquisition tab: the CRM also carries agent- and email-submitted enquiries and bookings that never passed through the web form, so the two totals will not reconcile.

Three things to know before reading the breakdowns

Year-on-year is Zululand against Zululand. The October 2025 source is the Zululand monthly report (the Fillout enquiry export plus the reservations report), so it covers Zululand only, including the Drakensberg vulture and 28-day course enquiries that sit on the Zululand list. Every YoY column therefore compares the October 2026 Zululand subset (113 applications, 16 paid bookings) against October 2025 (66 enquiries, 12 reservations), never the all-project total. That report calls applications "enquiries" and bookings "reservations"; they are the same measures. Of its 66 enquiries, 17 were flagged as not valid leads, so on valid leads alone the October 2025 base is 49.

The October 2025 segments are self-reported. Channel comes from the form's "how did you hear about us" answer, with no UTM capture, so Paid Advertising has no October 2025 figure and shows n/a; "Direct email" is mapped to Direct and 10 blank answers sit in Other Channels. Age is re-bucketed from the recorded age into this report's bands. New vs returning was a required form field in 2025, so it is fully recorded there, whereas the 2026 CRM records it on only 22 of October's 133 applications (17%).

A booking counts only once it is paid. Bookings are records with a booking month (column R) in the month whose status is "Booked - paid" or a later stage (pre-arrival, on the project, completed). Invoiced and provisionally booked records are excluded until paid, as are cancellations: of 36 records with an October booking month, 23 are paid, 12 are invoiced but unpaid and 1 was cancelled (September: 19 paid, 4 invoiced). Of October's 23 paid bookings, 8 came from October applications, 12 from September and 3 from older or undated enquiries, so a booking row in the tables below is the booking's segment, not a conversion of that row's applications. The ClickUp Age Band fallback (stale and biased young) is used for 20 of October's 133 applications where date of birth is missing.

01.1 · GeographyApplications and bookings by country

Applications grouped by nationality (column X of the CRM export); bookings are the same field on records with a net (non-cancelled) booking month in the month. Countries with fewer than 2 combined October applications and bookings are grouped into "Other countries". October 2025 applications are taken from the country list on the Enquiries Summary tab and October 2025 bookings from the Reservations Report, summed by country; England and Wales are combined into United Kingdom. The Enquiries Summary lists 63 of the month's 66 enquiries by country (3 had no country recorded), so the October 2025 country rows sum to 63 while the total row shows all 66.

Germany is October's top booking market: 5 applications and 4 paid bookings, the same conversion pattern flagged in previous reports. The United Kingdom fell from 8 paid bookings to 2 on unchanged applications (15 each month); four more UK October bookings are invoiced but not yet paid, so this gap may close next month. Canada fell hardest on applications, 18 → 8, while its paid bookings rose 1 → 2, and South Africa rose 2 → 8 applications with 2 paid bookings from none. Australia (13 → 17) is now the second-largest applicant market after the United States (20). Year-on-year for Zululand, the United States (9 → 16) and Australia (1 → 16) drove application growth, while UK paid bookings fell 4 → 1.

01.2 · ChannelApplications and bookings by channel

Applications and bookings grouped into nine channel buckets built from channel_grouped: Organic is Google Search; AI Search combines the AI-referral tag with the untagged AI-assistant fallback; Paid Advertising is every UTM campaign (Meta, Google Ads and Google Grants) plus untagged Meta paid social; Direct is untracked traffic; Returning is the returning-volunteer referral tag; Social Media and Word of mouth (WOM) are their own referral tags, with WOM also absorbing Natucate agent bookings and the volunteer-referral tag; Agents covers Activity International and The Great Projects; anything left over sits in Other Channels. October 2025 uses the self-reported source, mapped as described in the notice above.

Paid Advertising is still the largest applicant channel but slipped, 75 → 62 applications (−17.3%), with paid bookings 7 → 5. Organic is the month's best channel: applications 24 → 28 and paid bookings 2 → 5, the same story as the wild dog content gains in section 03. WOM and Direct carried the booking growth: WOM 4 → 6 (three of them Natucate agent bookings for Seychelles) and Direct 3 → 6, so 12 of 23 paid bookings come from channels with little or no marketing attribution. Agents has two October bookings with The Great Projects that are invoiced but not yet paid, so it shows none. AI Search fell 21 → 15 applications and converted once in each month. Year-on-year for Zululand, Organic grew 19 → 24 applications and 3 → 4 bookings, AI Search held level on applications (12 → 13) but produced no paid Zululand booking this October against 2 a year ago, and Direct bookings rose 5 → 6.

01.3 · AgeApplications and bookings by age group

Age groups computed from date of birth using ClickUp's bucket boundaries; the stale ClickUp band is used only where date of birth is missing. October 2025 ages are re-bucketed into the same boundaries.

18–25 is now the largest booking band: applications eased 73 → 63 but paid bookings rose 5 → 8. 36–50 was the other mover, applications 14 → 23 and bookings 1 → 3. 51–65, September's top booking band at 8, fell back to 6 and still converts best per application (6 from 17). Year-on-year for Zululand the shift towards younger volunteers is stark: 18–25 applications 18 → 55 and paid bookings 2 → 6, consistent with the Gap Year campaigns that did not exist a year ago. October 2025's 15 "Not recorded" applications are enquiries with no age captured.

01.4 · ReturningApplications and bookings by new vs. returning

Status is taken from new_or_returning where filled, falling back to the derived value. In 2026 this is a partial field; "Not recorded" is the majority and should not be read as "New". In October 2025 it was a required form question.

Status Oct appsSep appsΔ MoMOct ZUL appsOct'25 ZUL appsΔ YoY Oct bookingsSep bookingsΔ MoMOct ZUL bkgsOct'25 ZUL bkgsΔ YoY

Total applications / bookings 133145▼ 8.3%11366▲ 71.2% 2319▲ 21.1%1612▲ 33.3%

Status is recorded on only 22 of October's 133 applications (17%) and 26 of September's 145 (18%), so the 111 "Not recorded" applications are a coverage gap, not a surge in new volunteers. Bookings are far better covered: 16 of October's 23 paid bookings carry a status, and returning volunteers supplied 3 paid bookings from 2 applications. Year-on-year, October 2025 recorded 4 returning applicants of 66 (6%) and 2 returning reservations of 12; the 2026 figures are too sparse to say whether that share has moved. Making this field required in the CRM intake would close the gap.

AI assistant referrals, now from GA4

AI sessions now come from Google Analytics

AI sessions in this report are taken from GA4, a change of source from earlier reports. All three figures here (542, 508 and 0) are on the new GA basis, so the comparison within this report is consistent, but they cannot be compared with AI session figures in earlier reports (August was reported at 1,368 on the old basis). The October 2025 zero means GA4 recorded no AI-assistant channel a year ago, not that AI referrals did not exist, so the year-on-year chip reads "new".

Highlights

Fewer visitors, more applications and more paid bookings:

  • Paid bookings up 21.1%, 19 → 23 (section 01). Zululand paid bookings rose 11 → 16, a third above October 2025's 12, and another 12 October bookings are invoiced but not yet paid.
  • Applications rose on falling traffic. Volunteer applications up 6.3% (174 → 185) while total measured sessions fell 26.0% (24,091 → 17,838): 10.4 applications per 1,000 sessions, up from 7.2. The traffic that left was mostly September's Direct spike (11,219 → 6,430), which converted poorly.
  • Organic is doing the commercial work. CRM organic applications 24 → 28 and organic paid bookings 2 → 5. The wild dog content cluster grew 168 → 207 Search Console clicks and /blog/why-african-wild-dogs-are-endangered 262 → 393 (section 03.6).
  • Google Grants converted. 2 bookings from 3 applications in October on less than 60% of September's grant spend (section 05).
  • Meta got cheaper per application: R150 → R124 (−17.4%) on 21.8% less spend.
  • AI sessions up 6.7% (508 → 542) on the new GA basis.
  • AI citations held steady. AI answers linked to wildlifeact.com 1,890 times in October against 1,911 in September (−1.1%), and Wildlife ACT stays 6th of the 9 tracked brands. ChatGPT sent 526 visitors, up from 480 (section 04).

What to watch

  • Paid bookings fell 8 → 3 across Google Ads and Meta. Meta produced 2 bookings against 8, taking cost per booking from R1,067 to R3,338 and its application-to-booking rate from 14.0% to 3.7%.
  • Google Ads efficiency worsened. Spend up 4.7% while applications fell 38 → 27, so cost per application rose R180 → R265. Only 4 CRM applications carry a Google Ads campaign tag against the 27 the platform reports (section 05 reconciliation).
  • Lion traffic collapsed. Lion query clicks 296 → 122 and the lion species page 472 → 184, almost entirely "lion scientific name" variants; impressions fell 36%, so Google is showing the page less, not ranking it worse.
  • Seychelles demand halved. CRM Seychelles applications 32 → 17 and SEY-tagged campaign applications 15 → 7; seylastminute30 produced nothing in October.
  • Commercial pages are drifting down the results page. /volunteer average position 19.2 → 21.4 (14.5 a year ago); the top-volunteer-programs-2026 article 146 → 80 clicks with position 7.4 → 12.2; and the "conservation courses" head term sits at position 52.0, from 3.6 a year ago.
  • Concentration and a duplicate URL. The symbiosis article carries 3,625 of 9,294 site clicks (39.0%), and a second symbiosis URL with a near-identical slug picked up 135 clicks from 4. Two pages competing for one topic usually costs both.
  • AI cites Wildlife ACT for facts, not trips. 75% of the questions AI cites the site for are wildlife facts (symbiosis, species) and another 16% are about endangered species; only 8% are volunteering or conservation travel searches, the ones that bring bookings. International Volunteer HQ draws 8.3 times as many citations (15,711) (section 04).
  • Google keeps declining the Marine Conservation page ads. This is being taken up with Google directly; until resolved, Seychelles has no Google Ads support for its marine programme.

Year-on-year (Oct 2025 vs October 2026)

  • Volunteer applications up 50.4%, 123 → 185, and Zululand CRM applications 66 → 113 with paid bookings 12 → 16. The pipeline is materially bigger than a year ago on every measure we can compare.
  • Organic sessions up 33.2% (6,476 → 8,625), backed by Search Console clicks up 37.6% (6,755 → 9,294) and better average position in 19 of the top 20 countries (section 03.1).
  • Paid mix has flipped. Meta Ad sessions up 91.0% (702 → 1,341) while Google Ad sessions fell 54.1% (1,960 → 900). Paid applications tripled, 27 → 81, and blended cost per application halved, R350 → R171.
  • Direct is flat year-on-year (6,631 → 6,430, −3.0%), which confirms that September's 11,219 was a one-month anomaly rather than a trend.
  • AI sessions read as new: 542 against zero, because GA4 had no AI channel a year ago. Not a like-for-like comparison.
  • AI visibility has no year-on-year view. AI visibility data was not available until January 2026, so there is no October 2025 citation figure (section 04).

03 · SearchCTR by query category

Queries are grouped by what they contain. Brand takes priority, so a query containing both “wildlife act” and “volunteer” is counted as Brand. Both a blended CTR (total clicks ÷ total impressions) and a mean CTR (the simple average across individual queries) are shown, because the two answer different questions. October 2026 is listed first in every trio, September 2026 second, October 2025 third. All three months are computed from raw Search Console exports, so every comparison is exact.

Blended CTR improved month-on-month for brand (18.07% → 18.65%) and volunteer (2.01% → 2.13%) and slipped for everything else (0.71% → 0.66%). The site's decline sits entirely in that last group: "all other" clicks fell 2,671 → 2,321 (−13.1%), driven by lion scientific-name queries and the symbiosis article, while brand (335 → 331) and volunteer (87 → 83) were essentially flat.

Year-on-year, informational reach is the growth story: "all other" clicks up 19.7% (1,939 → 2,321) on 32% more impressions. Volunteer clicks rose 16.9% (71 → 83) with blended CTR up 1.93% → 2.13%. Brand fell 18.7% (407 → 331) and blended CTR 22.11% → 18.65%, almost all of it in the bare query "wildlife act" (323 → 262); brand average position actually improved 3.3 → 2.0, so this is softer brand demand, not a ranking problem.

Best performers

  • Wild dog content is the standout: 168 → 207 clicks, the head term african wild dog at position 1.6, and /blog/why-african-wild-dogs-are-endangered 262 → 393. Two more wild dog articles grew 29% and 48%.
  • Core booking markets held while the site fell 6.5%: South Africa +3.8%, the UK +9.9%, Germany +5.0%, Switzerland 28 → 69.
  • The course head term finally ranks: “wildlife conservation courses” 25.9 → 4.7.
  • Safari registered: “conservation safari” on page one for the first time.
  • Brand and volunteer CTR both improved, brand 18.07% → 18.65% and volunteer 2.01% → 2.13%.
  • The content cluster beat the site: flat clicks (108 → 108) against a 6.5% site decline (section 06.1).

What to watch

  • Lion scientific-name traffic is being given back: 296 → 122 clicks, the lion page 472 → 184, on 36% fewer impressions.
  • The symbiosis duplicate. A second URL, /blog/symbiosis-mutualism-commensalism-parasitism-competition-predation…, went 4 → 135 clicks while the original fell 4,165 → 3,625. Consolidate with a redirect or canonical before the two split the ranking further.
  • /volunteer is sliding: position 19.2 → 21.4, against 14.5 a year ago. The site's most important commercial page now ranks worse than in October 2025.
  • The 2026 volunteer guide is fading: /blog/top-volunteer-programs-for-2026… 146 → 80 clicks, position 7.4 → 12.2. With 2027 approaching, a refreshed 2027 edition is the obvious fix.
  • “conservation courses” at position 52.0, from 37.4 last month and 3.6 a year ago.
  • The homepage lost visibility: impressions 31,446 → 19,608 and position 12.3 → 17.7, with clicks flat.

Year-on-year (Oct 2025 vs October 2026)

  • Site clicks up 37.6%, 6,755 → 9,294, with average position better in 19 of the top 20 countries.
  • Species content went from marginal to material: wild dog 145 → 207, cheetah 44 → 72, lion 6 → 122, elephant 1 → 25 clicks.
  • Volunteer search up 16.9% (71 → 83 clicks), a steady rather than step-change gain.
  • Brand demand and the course cluster are softer than a year ago: brand clicks 407 → 331 at better positions, and course position 7.3 → 15.5 on flat clicks.

04 · AI visibilityHow often AI answers cite wildlifeact.com

SE Ranking tracks how often Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity link to wildlifeact.com in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Germany and Canada. Wildlife ACT is benchmarked against eight competitors: International Volunteer HQ, Volunteer World, Working Abroad, Natucate, The Great Projects, Conservation Africa, Conservation Travel Africa and African Impact. October leads and September follows. A citation is an AI answer that links to the site.

AI visibility data is only available from January 2026

AI visibility tracking was not available until January 2026, so there is no October 2025 figure and every year-on-year cell on this tab reads n/a. AI assistant data only became available in Google Analytics in June 2026, so the visitor figures below have no year-on-year view either.

AI tools vary in how they count citations and mentions, so the Google Analytics visitor figures are the better guide to performance. Google Analytics counts visits from Google AI Overviews under organic search, so the Google row combines AI Overviews with ordinary search traffic.

Only citations are tracked month by month, so they are the only measure compared between October and September. Share of voice, brand mentions and the prompt list are a single snapshot dated 1 November 2026 and have no September equivalent; pulling them at the start of each month will build that history. SE Ranking gives no search volume for the prompts, so they cannot be weighted by how often people ask them, and it returns no average position for Wildlife ACT on any assistant. SE Ranking does not measure Gemini.

This tab replaces the prompt-response export used in earlier reports (carried over from the July vs August report until now). It is a different tool with a different method, so none of these figures compare with the AI visibility tab of earlier reports. AI sessions in section 02 come from GA4 and measure visits, not citations.

Visitors to wildlifeact.com by source, from Google Analytics. Google Analytics does not separate Google AI Overviews from organic search, so the first row is all Google organic visitors and is not included in the AI assistants total. Last year is n/a because AI assistant data only became available in Google Analytics in June 2026. These are visitors, not sessions, so they do not match the session figures in section 02 (542 AI sessions in October, 508 in September).

Share of voice weighs brand mentions and citations together across the three assistants, ranked against the same eight competitors. Shares are per market and cannot be added across markets, so the total row shows n/a. Snapshot citations total 1,891 against October's 1,890 because the snapshot was taken on 1 November (Australia 237 vs 236). SE Ranking never reports brand mentions for Perplexity, and had no data for a handful of competitor and assistant combinations; none of them affect Wildlife ACT's own figures.

What is working

  • Citations held steady: 1,890 in October against 1,911 in September (−21, −1.1%), with the rank unchanged at 6 of 9. Wildlife ACT's share of all tracked citations moved from 4.6% to 4.5% while the nine brands together grew 0.8%.
  • The UK and Germany grew. UK citations rose 3.0% (467 → 481) and Germany 25 → 27; Canada held at 176.
  • Australia is the strongest share-of-voice market: 4 of 9 (3.2%), ahead of Working Abroad and Natucate. It also has the highest bookable share of any market, with 18.0% of Australian prompts citing the site being volunteering or travel searches.
  • Some bookable searches do cite the site, including "volunteer wildlife abroad", "wildlife volunteer south africa", "volunteer in seychelles", "conservation safari" and "wildlife act volunteer".
  • ChatGPT sends more visitors: 526 in October against 480 in September (+9.6%), by far the largest AI assistant source after Google.

What to watch

  • AI cites Wildlife ACT for facts, not trips. Of the 1,775 prompts that cite the site, 75% (1,330) are wildlife facts and biology questions (symbiosis, species) and another 16% (289) are endangered-species questions. Only 8% (147) are volunteering or conservation travel searches, the ones that bring bookings. Symbiosis alone accounts for 612 of all 1,775 prompts (34.5%), the same concentration the symbiosis article shows in Search Console (section 03).
  • Australia fell 9.2% (260 → 236), the largest drop of the five markets.
  • Google organic visitors fell 7.9% (8,782 → 8,087). This row includes Google AI Overviews, which Google Analytics does not report separately. Gemini visitors also fell, from 25 to 11.
  • Germany is close to invisible: 27 citations and 1.0% share of voice (8 of 9) against Natucate's 38.2%.

October's Google booking came from zulvolunteertravel (Zululand). Google booking data is only available from January 2026, so October 2025 bookings and booking metrics read n/a rather than zero. Ads pointing to the Marine Conservation page keep being declined by Google; this is being taken up with Google directly.

October's two Meta bookings came from zulretholidaysa and zulgapyearb. September's eight came from zulretholidaysa (3), zulgapyeara (2), seylastminute20 (2) and zulvolunteerholidayb (1). zulretholidaysa is the only campaign to book in both months. In the CRM, two of September's eight (one zulgapyeara, one zulvolunteerholidayb) are still invoiced rather than paid, so they do not appear as bookings in sections 01 and 05.1. Cost per application improved, but September's exceptional 14.0% booking rate did not repeat.

New to the report this month. Grant spend is Google Ad Grants credit, not cash, so its change is shown neutrally and it is not added to the rand totals below. October's two bookings both came from zulgooglegrantsresptravel and were Seychelles bookings from September applications; September's single booking came from zulgooglegrantsvolunteers. The CRM's Grants-tagged applications (3 in October, 7 in September) match the supplied figures exactly. A 66.7% booking rate on 3 applications is not a rate to plan around.

Spend fell 10.0% and paid applications fell 14.7%, so blended cost per application rose only slightly, R162 → R171. The real change is bookings: 8 → 3 across Google Ads and Meta, taking total spend per booking from R1,920 to R4,608. Paid share of all volunteer applications fell from 54.6% to 43.8% as organic and referral channels grew (section 01.2). Year-on-year, paid applications tripled (27 → 81) for 46.3% more spend, halving cost per application from R350 to R171. Including Grants, paid channels delivered 84 applications and 5 bookings in October.

05.1 · ZululandCampaigns by applications and bookings

Applications grouped by utm_campaign (column AA of the CRM export) for records on the Zululand project, counted by enquiry month. Bookings are paid records (deposit paid or a later stage) with a booking month (column R) in the month, grouped the same way. Campaigns are placed by the project the volunteer applied to, not by the campaign name: a row marked Seychelles ad is a Seychelles-named campaign whose applicant chose Zululand. Unassigned records follow the campaign name, and volunteerpage1 sits here. Complete list, so the total row is the sum of the rows.

Gap Year still leads: the two variants delivered 26 applications against 29 in September, but the mix flipped, zulgapyeara 11 → 17 and zulgapyearb 18 → 9, and only zulgapyearb booked in October. zulretholidaysa (retired holidaymakers) doubled to 8 applications and is the most reliable converter across the two months, 4 paid bookings in total. zulliona fell 6 → 2 and has not booked in either month. Two September applications came through the seygooglegrantsvolunteers ad (a Seychelles campaign) from volunteers who applied for Zululand; neither has booked. Total Zululand campaign applications fell 54 → 46 and paid bookings 5 → 3. All Zululand-project applications, tagged or not, were 113 in October and 109 in September.

Seychelles paid volume halved, 16 → 8 campaign applications. seylastminute20 held at 6 applications but its two September bookings did not repeat; seylastminute30 (4 in September) and seyturtles (1) produced nothing in October. Both October Seychelles campaign bookings came from a Zululand ad: zulgooglegrantsresptravel brought in two September applicants who chose Seychelles and both paid in October. Two other Zululand ads also drew Seychelles applicants (zulgooglegrantsgapyear in September, zulvolunteertravel in October). Seychelles bookings outside campaigns came via the Natucate agent (3) and organic and AI search (2). All Seychelles-project applications fell 32 → 17.

05.3 · DrakensbergCampaigns by applications and bookings

Total Drakensberg campaigns 10 new +100+0

One application in October from drakgooglegrantsvultures, the first Drakensberg campaign response in the reported period, and no booking yet. The applicant selected the Endangered Species Conservation, Zululand programme on the form rather than Drakensberg, so the vulture ad is generating interest that lands on the Zululand project.

Reconciliation notes

The three campaign tables reconcile to the CRM in full. Zululand, Seychelles and Drakensberg together account for every campaign-tagged record: 55 October and 70 September applications, and 5 October and 7 September paid bookings. No tagged campaign sits outside a table.

October bookings reconcile exactly on every platform. CRM paid bookings by campaign source match the supplied October figures: Meta 2, Google Ads 1, Grants 2. September matches for Google Ads (0) and Grants (1); Meta shows 6 paid in the CRM against 8 supplied, because two of the eight are still invoiced rather than paid.

Grants and Meta applications reconcile; Google Ads does not. Grants-tagged applications match exactly (3 and 7). Meta-tagged applications plus untagged Instagram paid-social records come to 53 in October and 57 in September, against 54 and 57 supplied. Google Ads is the gap: only 4 October and 9 September CRM applications carry a Google Ads campaign tag (zulvolunteertravel, volunteerpage1, seyturtles), against 27 and 38 reported by the platform. Either the Google Ads conversion action counts more than completed applications, or Google traffic is reaching the form without its UTM. Worth checking the conversion setup before Google cost per application is used to set budget.

Cross-project ads. Campaigns are placed by the project the volunteer applied to. Five records crossed over: the two zulgooglegrantsresptravel applicants who booked Seychelles (shown under Seychelles), one each from zulgooglegrantsgapyear and zulvolunteertravel (Seychelles applicants from Zululand ads), and two seygooglegrantsvolunteers applicants who chose Zululand (shown under Zululand). Ads are reaching volunteers who then pick the other programme, which is worth knowing when judging each campaign on its own project's results.

Top 20 pages by October clicks. Paths are relative to wildlifeact.com. Pages showing n/a for October 2025 did not exist or had no clicks a year ago. The tracked page count fell from 974 to 691, mostly long-tail pages with a click or two in September.

Wild dog content carried the month: /blog/why-african-wild-dogs-are-endangered 262 → 393 (+50.0%) with position 7.8 → 6.5, plus /blog/the-importance-of-conserving-african-wild-dogs 60 → 89 and /blog/african-wild-dog-behaviour-monitoring-conservation 69 → 89. The lion species page fell 472 → 184 (see section 03.6). The symbiosis article lost 540 clicks while a near-duplicate URL gained 131; together they carry 40.5% of site clicks. Commercially, /volunteer held its clicks (277 → 271) but lost position 19.2 → 21.4, and /blog/top-volunteer-programs-for-2026… nearly halved, 146 → 80.

Year-on-year, 13 of the 16 pages with an October 2025 row have more clicks; the exceptions are /blog/recognising-the-six-vulture-species-of-south-africa (181 → 142), /blog/gps-and-vhf-wildlife-tracking-collars-used-for-monitoring (87 → 80) and /blog/why-do-cheetah-have-tear-marks (86 → 85). The species pages are the largest gains (lion 20 → 184, elephant 11 → 81, wild dog 44 → 101). /volunteer is up 29.7% on clicks (209 → 271) but its position is worse than a year ago (14.5 → 21.4): it is gaining from more impressions in total, not from ranking higher. The courses landing page shows the same pattern, 84 → 106 clicks at position 7.6 → 10.2.

The cluster held flat at 108 clicks while the site fell 6.5%, so it outperformed the site this month. The way it got there is unusual: impressions halved (20,708 → 10,450) and CTR doubled (0.52% → 1.03%). Most of the lost impressions came from two pages that had briefly ranked very high in September: why-ethical-wildlife-volunteering-is-crucial-for-conservation (4,777 → 670 impressions, position 2.9 → 6.7) and ethical-marine-conservation-volunteering-in-the-seychelles (4,143 → 605, position 3.7 → 6.9).

Position moved the right way for most of the set: 10 of the 15 pages improved, including your-hands-on-guide-to-monitoring (7.9 → 6.4, 15 → 18 clicks), endemic-species-in-seychelles (12 → 16) and volunteer-drakensberg-bearded-vulture (3 → 9). Losers: what-does-the-african-wildlife-conservation-and-habitat-management-course-offer fell 9 → 0 clicks with position 9.1 → 12.2, the same course weakness seen in section 03.5, and real-marine-conservation-volunteer slipped to position 13.1.

Year-on-year comparison is not possible for this content model: only how-to-contribute-to-hands-on-conservation-in-zululand appears in the October 2025 export (2 clicks, now 6). The other fourteen were published or re-slugged after October 2025. That is a content-history fact, not a data gap.
